REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPISTS

KIM THOMPSON, RMT

Kim Graduated from a 2200 hour Massage Therapy program in Ontario in 2006, leaving Newfoundland to pursue this career as Newfoundland didn’t currently have a program.  She then upgraded to a 3000 hour program to be able to work in British Columbia. She has been practicing in St. John’s since 2011 as a Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Newfoundland and Labrador (CMTNL) and the Newfoundland and Labrador Massage Therapy Association (NLMTA).

Kim has worked in a variety of settings from spas to large multidisciplinary clinics. Working side by side with chiropractors, acupuncturists, yoga instructors, doctors, and physiotherapists she has been able to learn and thrive though the knowledge gained from these experiences.

Kim has taken many courses over the years and is now a certified Hand and Foot Reflexologist. She is also trained in Indian Head Massage and well as Mechanical Cupping. She is well versed in motor vehicle accident treatments, though she most enjoys treating cervical spine dysfunction, as well as pre and post-natal women.

She is very excited about expanding her knowledge and experience with Winterholme Wellness. She can’t wait to start helping you with any and all things that seem to be ailing you.

ANNA CALLAHAN, RMT

Anna Callahan was born and raised in St John’s Newfoundland. As an athletic person, her interest in health and wellness has been ongoing. After studying French at Memorial University for a few years, she decided to pursue her interests in healing. Since switching her studies to Massage Therapy, Anna has not looked back, graduating from Eastern College in 2014 and becoming a Registered Therapist in 2015.

Anna is excited to work in a multifaceted clinic with a client based approach such as Winterholme. Anna is trained in General Swedish Massage, trigger point release, fascial techniques and deep tissue massage and looks forward to learning new techniques to add to her skill set.

Anna believes that health starts with being aware of your body and being open to trying new things to find what works for you. She believes that a healthy body takes a full commitment from the therapist and the client.

When she is not treating clients Anna enjoys being active. Her passions right now are hiking with her dog, climbing and swing dancing.

ANGELA LILY, RMT

Angela Cooper is a woman of many interests, including outdoor activities, wild edibles, academics, and travel. She has experience in radio, theater, philosophy, community and fundraising events, and a BA double major in philosophy and psychology. She attended the Academy Canada program for Massage Therapy and was delighted to graduate with honors, distinction, and the program award in August 2017.

Angela has experience treating a wide variety of conditions and is very skilled at providing targeted and thorough treatments. She treats every client on an individual basis, with a holistic and comprehensive approach. She feels massage therapy can help alleviate many kinds of pain through treatment of the physical body. Angela has a warm disposition with compassionate hands, keen assessments, and an eager attitude toward learning more modalities as she builds her career in massage therapy.

CHRISTINE COADY, RMT

Christine Coady has always had an interest in physical rehabilitation so deciding to attend post secondary school for Massage Therapy was a natural fit for her.

Born and raised in Newfoundland she decided to move to Alberta in late 1997 and attended school for Massage Therapy the following year.  She graduated Grant MacEwan Community College’s (now known as MacEwan University) Massage Therapy 2200 hr program in Edmonton in 2000.

While in Alberta Christine worked for eight years in a variety of settings after graduating which have included everything from Massage Therapy only clinics to Chiropractic Offices to Multidisciplinary environments, including Workers Compensation Board AB Millard Heath rehabilitation center.  This variety exposed her to a wide clientele base from children to seniors, from general relaxation therapy to very focused therapeutic treatments for head traumas and severe physical and mental disabilities.  Specialities include cupping, trigger point therapy and deep tissue work.

In 2011, Christine returned to NL and once her children were a little older she explored her options for returning to work as a Massage Therapist.  She attended the exam preparation course Academy Canada offered in 2017 and became a Registered Massage Therapist in January 2018 in good standing with NLMTA and CMTNL. She became an employee of Winterholme in February 2018.

Christine has thoroughly enjoyed her time working as an RMT within the Wellness Center at Winterholme.  She has felt a deep sense of passion for her work since returning after all this time and still says regularly how her “work” does not feel like work at all!  Her favourite type of treatment is therapeutic work of the back, neck and shoulders.  She finds a sense of purpose and gratitude when she can work with a client to help guide them back to a pain free and full range of movement state of being. Her future interests include aromatherapy and essential oil education for health purposes, as well as postural correction, physical re-education and myofascial work.

THOMAS OZON, RMT

Thomas is a Registered Massage Therapist, dancer and performer who, during his education, has honed his skills in prenatal, sports and relaxation massage. As a recent graduate with honours distinction, he is gradually working on formal certificates in these areas in addition to his diploma. Being a dancer and performer, Thomas has first-hand kinesthetic experience with the needs of those who dance, play sports and run. He is excited to begin working with Winterholme Wellness Center and Spa to further develop his skills and become more familiar with the techniques offered at Winterholme.

In addition to his education in Massage Therapy, Thomas is also a graduate of Memorial University’s Psychology program with a published honours thesis. His direction to the route of massage therapy was inspired by his passion for helping people in the realm of health and wellness. As a Massage Therapist, his goal is to marry the skills he has developed in both programs to be an empathetic therapist who is able to provide an educational and supportive environment that allows for optimal treatment results and client empowerment.

ALEXANDRA SNOOK, RMT

Alexandra is a Registered Massage Therapist who finished the Massage Therapy program at Academy Canada in 2019. She has always had a passion for helping others, and has wanted to work in health care for quite some time. After learning about Massage Therapy, she decided to start the program in 2017 and hasn’t looked back since.

She has a background in Dance and Swimming, and enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog, drawing/sketching, singing, and practicing makeup in her down time.

With a passion for prenatal, myofascial, and relaxation massage, Alex will continue to put effort into learning more about each field as she progresses in her career. She enjoys working in a multidisciplinary environment such as the one at Winterholme and looks forward to helping others through her position here.
