Kim Graduated from a 2200 hour Massage Therapy program in Ontario in 2006, leaving Newfoundland to pursue this career as Newfoundland didn’t currently have a program.  She then upgraded to a 3000 hour program to be able to work in British Columbia. She has been practicing in St. John’s since 2011 as a Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Newfoundland and Labrador (CMTNL) and the Newfoundland and Labrador Massage Therapy Association (NLMTA).

Kim has worked in a variety of settings from spas to large multidisciplinary clinics. Working side by side with chiropractors, acupuncturists, yoga instructors, doctors, and physiotherapists she has been able to learn and thrive though the knowledge gained from these experiences.

Kim has taken many courses over the years and is now a certified Hand and Foot Reflexologist. She is also trained in Indian Head Massage and well as Mechanical Cupping. She is well versed in motor vehicle accident treatments, though she most enjoys treating cervical spine dysfunction, as well as pre and post-natal women.

Anna Callahan was born and raised in St John’s Newfoundland. As an athletic person, her interest in health and wellness has been ongoing. After studying French at Memorial University for a few years, she decided to pursue her interests in healing. Since switching her studies to Massage Therapy, Anna has not looked back, graduating from Eastern College in 2014 and becoming a Registered Therapist in 2015.

Anna is excited to work in a multifaceted clinic with a client based approach such as Winterholme. Anna is trained in General Swedish Massage, trigger point release, fascial techniques and deep tissue massage and looks forward to learning new techniques to add to her skill set.

Anna believes that health starts with being aware of your body and being open to trying new things to find what works for you. She believes that a healthy body takes a full commitment from the therapist and the client.

When she is not treating clients Anna enjoys being active. Her passions right now are hiking with her dog, climbing and swing dancing.

Christine Coady has always had an interest in physical rehabilitation so deciding to attend post secondary school for Massage Therapy was a natural fit for her.

Born and raised in Newfoundland she decided to move to Alberta in late 1997 and attended school for Massage Therapy the following year.  She graduated Grant MacEwan Community College’s (now known as MacEwan University) Massage Therapy 2200 hr program in Edmonton in 2000.

While in Alberta Christine worked for eight years in a variety of settings after graduating which have included everything from Massage Therapy only clinics to Chiropractic Offices to Multidisciplinary environments, including Workers Compensation Board AB Millard Heath rehabilitation center.  This variety exposed her to a wide clientele base from children to seniors, from general relaxation therapy to very focused therapeutic treatments for head traumas and severe physical and mental disabilities.  Specialities include cupping, trigger point therapy and deep tissue work.

In 2011, Christine returned to NL and once her children were a little older she explored her options for returning to work as a Massage Therapist.  She attended the exam preparation course Academy Canada offered in 2017 and became a Registered Massage Therapist in January 2018 in good standing with NLMTA and CMTNL. She became an employee of Winterholme in February 2018.

Christine has thoroughly enjoyed her time working as an RMT within the Wellness Center at Winterholme.  She has felt a deep sense of passion for her work since returning after all this time and still says regularly how her “work” does not feel like work at all!  Her favourite type of treatment is therapeutic work of the back, neck and shoulders.  She finds a sense of purpose and gratitude when she can work with a client to help guide them back to a pain free and full range of movement state of being. Her future interests include aromatherapy and essential oil education for health purposes, as well as postural correction, physical re-education and myofascial work.

Lisa is from St. John’s, NL and has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2013; graduating with honours from the Eastern College Massage Therapy Program. She has been very fortunate over the last 6 years to work in two busy multidisciplinary clinics and is well experienced with treating a various injuries and conditions.  Her range of experience covers many areas and ages, from youth sports based injuries to the elderly and pregnancy to name a few.  Along with traditional Swedish massage techniques, trigger point therapy and deep tissue work, she has also completed additional courses in Mechanical Cupping, Myofascial Release, and Ligamentous Articular Strain techniques.

Her treatment philosophy centers around addressing the root of the clients pain and/or injury rather than treatment of the only the symptoms.  She believes in a whole body, holistic approach that focuses on trying to isolate the imbalances and compensation patterns that the client’s body has developed over time in response to an injury or condition (i.e. repetitive strain, whiplash, sciatica, etc.) This approach works with the body to achieve balance and encourage wellness, her goal is give the client the best experience possible while decreasing pain and stress, improving client range of motion, and facilitating the body’s own healing process.  She is passionate about client care and loves being an RMT!

SUE BAILEY, Registered Reflexologist

Sue first began studying reflexology because she found the full-body relaxation effects of the foot massage so powerful. It involves deep but gentle pressure on reflexes that map to other parts, glands and organs of the body to enhance circulation and help it function at its best. Sue trained and studied with the Reflexology Association of Canada in Ottawa and became a registered reflexologist in 2014. She is also certified for hand reflexology, which can be very soothing for musicians and others dealing with repetitive motion, and Indian Head Massage, an ancient antidote to hours spent on laptops and smart phones.
